The New Sewing outfits I made.

I have been on a sewing kick recently. A goal of mine is to try and produce one article of clothing per month. I completed two for Jan. It is a dress made out of paper. I had a simple dress pattern and I traced it onto some brown packing paper. I ran off at Kinkos some of the collage work that I have been making. I used modge podge and some washi tape to decorate the dress with the collage print outs. It was a bit tricky to sew it up, but hopefully it will hold together. I picked up these two patterns for 2 dollars a piece. The material I got at the swap meet for really cheap. It is like a cotton but not quite like a flannel feel. I made the poncho first. It has a flaw in the arm near the armpit on one side. This defect causes one of the sleeves to be shorter. I had a bit of the material left so I thought how about some pants. So I drew up the scrub pants pattern and made a matching out fit. The two pieces are kind of baggy. They fit a little bit bulky then I thought they would. When I lose some weight I can alterate them and trim them down so they fit a little bit more proper. This set up is loosely inspired by the adds for bondage pants I would see in those old issues of the japanese punk and noise magazine Doll Super Head Magazine.Thank you

I made some coveralls.

I am not sure what triggered this, maybe it was the sign that said Simplicity patterns, $1.99, or maybe it was wanting something to wear for an interesting halloween costume? I found this patterns for making your own coveralls. There was a qr code with a video to follow along for the sewing instructions. Awesome. I searched on youtube to see if the follow along instructions were posted there. Another awesome, they were. Looking over the patterns with all the little symbols was a bit intimidating. I looked at another video that had a breakdown of how to read a pattern which was really helpful. With this new found knowledge, I took a drive to to get some interesting fabric. At M and L fabrics, I got mad looks from all the older ladies gathering their quilting pieces. They were boxing me out of some of the rows with their carts. I found some interesting fabric. They have so much fabric on the racks that you may not find the same fabric again. The thing is I forgot how many yards I was going to need for the coveralls. I started cutting up the pieces and what a blunder, I didn't get enough fabric. A week or two later I went back and found a solid color of teal that is very close to the teal bits on the pattern. It was great to have a video follow along. Almost like a tutor to guide me in my work, so I must thank you Mr. Norris Danta Ford. I had a problem with the bottom part of the zipper that makes it stick out funny. I will have to revisit it and adjust it. The coveralls ended up being really huge in size. So they are roomy. I got a belt and a little pouch to help slim them down. The finish product reminds me of some coveralls a mechanic would wear in the 2nd Back to the Future movie. I could see them on some guy in the background while Marty is zipping around on the hoverboard avoiding on coming traffic.

Hello, I thought this image might make a good textile pattern, someday. I just wanted to let you know that the new episode of Bull Hurley's Tape Worm is up. It's episode 20. 9-29 time

Still working on some things. Hopefully i can get them completed before the end of the year. Here are some things that I have been working on. Episode number 19 of Bull Hurley's Tape Worm is up and ready to go. A link so you can listen to it here. I am slightly addicted to shopping at various bargain stores. I have had this affliction for easily 16 years at least. Now you know my shame, purchasing cheap goods and creating mad clutter. I have now at least turned my afflliction into a positive outcome. Here are a few things I have made using things i have purchased at dollar and bargain stores. I try not to purchase parts that are over two dollars. These houses I constructed out of foam core. I then covered them with contact paper and the roof is covered with lining for kitchen drawers. The only thing i did not get at a dollar or bargain store was the clear plastic to use for the windows. A female fashion head combined with a tank. I painted the tank bottom. I got these two form the dollar tree. thank you and have fun out there.

Here is some new goods for the new year. Starting off with the new cassette tape fun from Bull Hurley. It is episode 17. This is the link so you could listen to it if you wish. Just a note, on the Johnny Hartman tracks, I think my batteries were dying so the recording might be slower then the way it is intended to be. Sorry. I have also a new or the last episode of Pedal psticks Pedal from 2o21. I like riding to the Jetty, but it gets a little cold in the early morning. Thanks for everything out there. Episode Three and other goods.

It has been sometime but not to worry,here are some new goods for fun and excitement. First off, here is the new mix from Bull Hurley's Tapeworm. There are some interesting tapes there. I thought they were interesting. + Next up, episode three of To The Dome. You may learn something new. Or maybe you will get a laugh? Maybe not though. sorry. Below is a still of Mr. Netty and Craftmaster P scratching and trading. + Oh, there is a great Nara exhibit at LACMA going on right now. It ends Jan 2 2022. It is really comprehensive. I plan on going a few mo re times. Here is a still i took using my Super8 camera. I think i freaked out the guards when they heard the motor of the camera engaged. They came over to me rather quickly. I was able to film about ten secconds worth. Enjoy and be safe out there.

New Fun goods

Here are a few fun things. There is a new mix for the Bull Hurley's TapeWorm. Some things that I found interesting, on the Troop tape, on the second song of side A Gerald Levert worked on the song along with an engineer named Trent Reznor. That's kind of wild. Here is the link for the new Mix. Maybe you will enjoy it. I put together a new bicycle. The frame was a gift. It is pieced together from various found parts. It was originally going to be a fixed gear. I turned it into a seven speed, because I'm old and have no need for fixed gears. It's called the lizardo. it is fun to ride. thank you

New Goods for the New Year

That up there is the Bricktop. It is a 1983 Schwinn Traveller. I just fixed it up a little. It rides fairly well. Here is a new episode of Pedal psticks Pedal. I rode the Bricktop in it. Here is the first zine for 2021. It is called Jeff George Michaels Coupon. I interviewed the artist Michael Yaikel in it. There is some other information in it that may be fun. Another item, is the new mix of cassette tapes on the Bull hurleys Tape Worm It is episode 14. It snowed and it was really neat here in the high desert. It was like Hoth. Pedal psticks Pedal

I rode the boss anjo on some adventures. The Boss Anjo is kind of heavy and takes some effort to get up to speed. Here is an adventure on the Boss Anjo. pedal psticks pedal This is my new project. It is called Bricktop. It is a 1983 Schwinn Traveler. It is a bit dirty and needs some grease and WD-40. But i think it will be fun. thank you and be safe.

Yodica trials

I bought some Yodica Sirio 400 Color Negative Film from B&H I wanted to see what it would look like. The Sirio film has a gradient to it. It goes Purple to a Yellow Orange with the middle transition of Green. The prints that I received were a little dark. The next time I use this film I will bracket up to let more light in. On a side note, Photography is kind of a costly hobby. thank you

The new project Boss Anjo

My sister gave me a neglected schwinn varsity bike that she rescued. I don't think it had been ridden in maybe 25 years. There is a bunch of rust and some dings that need to be cleaned up. I thought I would give it a go and try fixing it up. The rims are both pretty straight so i'm going to keep those. I cleaned off the rust on the front wheel and I am working on the back wheel. I had some leftover metallic paint that i used to paint the front wheel. I think the color will look good against the yellow. My idea is to have all the chrome parts painted this auqua type metallic blue. I was trying to disassemble the sprocket from the back wheel and lost about three of the ball bearings. Now I have to get a specialised tool to remove the sprocket. Oh I tested the tubes. They are good so I am going to use them. The wheels were brittle and I thought I would replace them with some yellow ones. The yellow wheels were kind of pricey but I think they will look boss. Back to cleaning off rust. thank you and be safe out there.
